We’re looking for an experienced Senior Mobile Developer capable of delivering solutions for our customers that integrate directly into their native mobile applications. This is a hands-on role requiring solid technical expertise, a strong sense of ownership and urgency, and an obsession towards perfection in product development.
The Pushly product and development team builds and maintains a web push notification SaaS platform used by 100s of enterprise users every day. The platform includes a powerful user-facing single page application powered by an API that communicates with internal distributed backend applications that generate, ingest, process, and expose reporting for over 100 billion clickstream events every month. The Senior Mobile Developer will report to Director, Frontend Development located in Kansas City, MO.
How You’ll Make an Impact:
- Architect, improve, and maintain our Android, iOS, and Cross Platform mobile SDKs
- Evangelize consistent architecture, user experience, testing, performance, and security across our mobile SDKs and APIs
- Working through ambiguity, asking questions, and making suggestions for improvement to our team and its processes
- Investigating client-reported issues, documenting, and proposing solutions to some of our most-difficult technical challenges
- Mentoring other developers on mobile development and best practices
What You Need:
- 5+ years of experience programming mobile applications in: Kotlin, Java, Swift, or Objective-C
- You have contributed to one or more applications that are available in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store
- Experience with mobile offline storage, threading, performance tuning, and API interaction
- Desire to learn additional languages and to be the technical owner of our mobile SDKs
- Experience with agile software development practices such as CI/CD, unit testing, and a PR-based workflow.
Preferred additional skills:
- Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes
- Experience using cross-platform development frameworks (e.g., React Native, Flutter, Ionic, Cordova)
- Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications
Strong working knowledge of AWS ecosystem (Lambda, Serverless computing, Dynamo) - Experience writing distributed mobile application libraries / SDKs
