About Missouri Technology Corporation (MTC)
Established by the Missouri General Assembly in 1994, the Missouri Technology Corporation (MTC) is a public–private partnership committed to catalyzing innovation, supporting entrepreneurship, and fostering the growth of high-tech companies across Missouri. MTC achieves its mission through two main programmatic activities – Ecosystem Building and a State-Sponsored Venture Capital Program.
Through Ecosystem Building, MTC provides strategic grant funding to organizations and programs that strengthen Missouri’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, helping founders and start-ups turn ideas into thriving businesses. Through the State-Sponsored Venture Capital Program, MTC has invested over $53 million into more than 160 early-stage Missouri- based high-growth technology-focused companies, which have collectively raised over $2.1 billion in additional private capital and created over 8,000 jobs.
MTC’s grant programs support efforts to build and expand Missouri’s entrepreneurial capacity, enhance innovation infrastructure, strengthen regional collaborations and more, all contributing to making Missouri a nationally recognized destination for entrepreneurship and technology growth. To date, MTC has awarded over $108M in grant-based financial support to over 80 non-profits and institutions of higher education statewide, including over $87M dedicated specifically to expanding entrepreneurial capacity. These investments support organizations that, in turn, help entrepreneurs and startups build and grow their businesses, driving business creation, job growth, and revenue across the state.
