Website Jewish Vocational Services
- Jewish Vocational Service (JVS) was established in 1949 to help Holocaust survivors, refugees, and those returning from WWII. Today we engage, encourage, and empower people to achieve social, cultural, and economic integration. We do this by helping refugees make Kansas City their new home, working with people with disabilities to find and maintain employment, and more. JVS provides people the opportunities and support they need to become self-sufficient. Each year, we serve thousands of people in the greater Kansas City area.
The JVS Young Professionals Board (YPB) is a way for young leaders, ages 22-35, to get involved in the work of JVS. The goal of the YPB is to annually raise funds for the agency, develop awareness of JVS’ work, engage other young professionals in the city, and create space for individuals to learn about/develop skills in board leadership.
As a Young Professionals Board member, you will meet monthly to plan and organize fundraising events, volunteer activities, engage other young professionals to learn about and be a part of the work of JVS, and participate in governing board committees for the agency.
